Supporting Seniors
Since 1980

For more than 40 years, our campus has been a place of care, connection, and community. What began as a local effort to support Palmer’s elders has expanded into a full range of services including meals, transportation, adult day programs, housing, and more.

Who We Are

Founded in 1980, Mat-Su Senior Services is the largest nonprofit senior campus in the Mat-Su Valley. We proudly serve the widest geographical area of any senior service provider in Alaska. Just a few years after opening, in 1983, we became the first organization in the state to provide services under the Medicaid Waiver (CHOICE) Program, a milestone that reflects our long tradition of innovation and commitment to older Alaskans.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote honor, dignity, security, and independence for older Alaskans. We believe every person deserves to live a meaningful, quality life filled with connection and respect. Our programs support seniors, individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease or related disorders, and those of any age on the Home and Community Based Medicaid Waiver Program — helping each person thrive in the way that matters most to them.

Our Values

    Dignity

Every person deserves respect and compassionate care.

    Independence

We support seniors in living life on their own terms.

    Compassion

    Kindness guides everything we do.

Our Impact

Each year, we deliver hundreds of Meals on Wheels, provide safe and welcoming housing, offer rides across the Valley, and create opportunities for seniors to stay active and engaged. Families know they can count on us for support, relief, and a listening ear.

As one community member shared: “You’ve made life easier and more enhanced for my sweet friend — thank you for caring.”

Looking Ahead

Our story is still being written, and the next chapters are full of opportunity. With the continued support of our community, donors, and volunteers, we’re building on more than four decades of service to meet the growing needs of seniors across the Mat-Su Valley.

Together, we can create a future where seniors are not just cared for, but celebrated as vital members of our community.
